Biography

A graduate of Kalamazoo College and Thomas M. Cooley Law School, Mr. Hardin quickly determined that employment and labor issues were primary concerns for companies attempting to cope with, and grow in, the current legal environment. Focusing initially on employment litigation, he soon developed the requisite expertise to help clients prevent workforce problems by preparing and using employment analysis and evaluation of potential claims.

Mr. Hardin started his litigation career trying premises liability and dram shop claims for carriers and trade group limited liability pools. He now represents numerous insurance companies and their insureds in a wide variety of cases, including, construction claims, automobile claims (first and third party), negligence and intentional tort matters and in actions directly brought by or against a carrier.

Mr. Hardin has tried employment cases, completed trials and arbitrations across the States of Pennsylvania, Ohio & Michigan, including over 65 jury trials and achieving 92% success rate. Mr. Hardin has worked with carriers to develop uniform case handling procedures which expedite and simplify the litigation process, and he strives to ensure that the claims representatives and the clients understand the status and exposure of each case based upon its particular details.

A member of the State Bar of Pennsylvania and Michigan, he is also admitted to practice before the Federal District Courts for the Western District of Pennsylvania, Eastern and Western Districts of Michigan, the United States Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit, the United States Court of Appeals Third Circuit and the United States Supreme Court. Mr. Hardin is a member of the Litigation, Insurance and Indemnity and Employment Sections of the Bar Associations. He also serves as a labor/employment consultant for several start-up companies in the automobile industry.
