Biography

Melissa Duque joined Hardin Thompson in November of 2023. She primarily focuses on general liability, and labor and employment defense, representing insurance carriers, insured individuals and companies in both state and federal court. Melissa has prior legal experience in labor and employment law, personal injury, premises liability and criminal defense.  

Prior to joining Hardin Thompson, Melissa represented one of the largest national providers of skilled nursing services throughout the state of Florida in all employment litigation. She also managed discrimination and harassment complaints, conducted internal investigations, and drafted position statements in response to charges of discrimination.

Melissa is member of the State Bar of New York, South Carolina and Florida, and she is also admitted to practice before the Federal District Court for the Middle and Southern Districts of Florida. She received her Juris Doctor from Elisabeth Haub School of Law at Pace University in 2018 and received her bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice from Fayetteville State University in 2012.
