Biography
Dina is an attorney with both in-house and law firm experience. Dina graduated from the University of Pittsburgh School of Law after receiving a B.A. in Political Science from the Mercyhurst University Honors College. Dina has tried multiple bench and jury trials to verdict as first chair counsel.
As General Counsel, Dina independently handled all litigation matters and represented the company in legal actions including: claims sounding in mandamus, tax appeals and tax litigation, breach of contract claims, civil litigation relating to property damage and land use issues, debt collection cases, fraudulent conveyance claims, zoning hearing board appeals, and confession in judgement cases.
Dina's law firm experience includes involvement in each step of the litigation process, from pre-litigation inception through appellate practice. She has experience litigating both state and federal civil cases in the fields of: insurance defense, labor and employment law, dram shop litigation, business law, contractual disputes and defamation.
Representative Cases:
• Obtained dismissal of a high-value slip and fall case through a motion for summary judgment on the basis of the Hills and Ridges Doctrine. The dismissal was confirmed on appeal by the Superior Court after briefing and oral argument.
• Obtained complete dismissal of a major-injury premises liability case via motion for judgment on the pleadings.
• Successfully negotiated a substantial settlement for my client at mediation in a complex case for defamation, tortious interference with business relations, and invasion of privacy.
• Secured the dismissal, with prejudice, of two separate land use statutory appeals.
• Negotiated a highly favorable settlement of a mandamus action filed by my client against a municipality, resulting in the prompt release of my client’s escrowed funds.
• Engineered the significant reduction (greater than 75%) of a mechanics lien claim against my client’s property following preliminary objections and presentation of evidence and testimony at an evidentiary hearing.
When not practicing law, Dina is passionate about travel and enjoys cooking and baking. She loves spending time with her family, including the best nieces and nephews in the world!
